C.Nellainayagam Theagarayanagar Primary School

C.Nellainayagam Theagarayanagar Primary School is located at Theagarayanagar, Chennai. The school moulds with care and lays a strong foundation for a sound body and mind for children aged 5 to 10. It also supports less privileged children in all respects to become responsible citizens of our country.

The school was started in 1931 and offers primary courses in Tamil, English, Maths, Science and Social Studies for children from Classes I to V. The school has an able faculty of 12 teaching and non teaching staff members educating around 240 children annually.

The school encourages its children to actively participate in various extra-curricular activities, including the following.

1. Oratorical competitions
2. Sports activities – carrom, chess, outdoor games
3. Music Training by Madras Youth Choir
4. Spoken English classes
5. Cubs and bulbuls activities
6. Classwise cultural activities
7. Drawing competitions
8. Library usage

Two students of the school won the I and II prizes in the Thirukkural competition conducted by the Chennai Book Fair 2014, where about 35 schools participated.
